They were responding to the ‘Green Consumption Campaign 2013’ which kicked off on May 12.

This is the fourth such campaign of the HCMC People’s Committee to be organized by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Department of Industry and Trade along with other organs.

The volunteers also attended a handicraft making workshop at the Tao Dan Cultural Park and the Youth Cultural House. A total of about 200 handicraft items like picture frames, key chains and pen containers were made from waste materials like paper-boards and bottle caps.

On the same day, the Campaign’s organization board worked with relevant sides to install 120 rubbish bins at 23/9 Park. They will put another 280 bins in other places in the City.

Residents can attend a photo competition themed ‘Environment Friendly Activities’ as part of the campaign and the best selected photo will be shown live on TV.
