To prepare for its operation, FLC Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for up to 24 A321NEO planes witnessed by Party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong in March.
Last month, property developer FLC Group signed an agreement to buy 20 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft from Boeing in the US in the presence of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.
Bamboo Airways General director Dang Tat Thang said Bamboo Airways is hybrid aviation - an airline that has a low-cost business strategy but provides some upscale or full-service features - to serve passengers' different demands.
The group plans to open direct flights to the US and European countries.
It becomes Vietnam's fifth airline.
