According to the Vietnam Food Association, Vietnam's export rice prices have risen sharply recently. The price of Vietnam's five-percent broken rice currently stands at US$453 per ton, an increase of $25 per ton compared to October.
The Vietnam Food Association reported that the asking price of five percent broken rice is at US$428 per ton and the price of 25 percent broken rice is US$406 per ton, increasing US$3 to US$5 tons over the price last week. Notably, the current export prices of Vietnam have surpassed the export rice prices of Thailand, India and Pakistan in the range of US$4 to US$40 per ton.
The southern region should prioritize rice varieties with high quality and yields for export in the upcoming winter-spring rice, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh has said.
