Although the last months of the year had seen a substantial drop in export orders, the textile and garment industry, as well as the seafood industry, still ended the year with positive results.
Aquatic exports are forecast to have hit a record of US$ 10 billion in this November thanks to businesses’ flexible adaptation to changes in the global market, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
During the fourth quarter of every year most of the export companies in Vietnam find the need to step up pace in order to meet the increased demand in orders from major import markets such as the US and the European Union.
Last year, Vietnam’s tuna exports exceeded US$719 million , an increase of 10.2 percent from 2018, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
Vietnam’s shrimp exports to the EU market reached 483.6 million USD in the first eight months of this year, a rise of 30 percent over the same period last year, making the EU the top market of Vietnamese shrimp, the place which was earlier held by Japan.
