Local carriers cancel flights due to Hong Kong airport strike

Local airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Vietjet have cancelled their flights to Hong Kong International Airport (China) on August 13 due to protests.

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has announced that it has adjusted schedules for flights between HCMC and Hong Kong (China), VN594 and VN595 which scheduled time will be 7 hours and 40 minutes later than planned, excluding VN593 and VN592 connecting Hanoi and Hong Kong, and VN598 from HCMC to Hong Kong.
Meanwhile budget airline Jetstar Pacific is canceling two flights BL160 and BL161 between Hanoi and Hong Kong; two flights BL164 and BL165 linking Da Nang and Hong Kong.
The low-cost carrier Vietjet Air also stopped exploiting flights, consisting of VJ876 and VJ877 between HCMC and Hong Kong.
Passengers can access the carriers' websites, or contact the ticket offices of airlines throughout the country for further information. Carriers urge customers to reach the airport early at least 3 hours before scheduled departure.
Operations have restarted at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) early Tuesday morning.
