HCMC monopolizes Singapore tourism, hospitality awards

Nominations from Ho Chi Minh City swept the annual Tourism Alliance Awards given in Vietnam by the Singapore-based IIR Exhibition Pte Ltd.

Vietnam Airlines has won the annual Tourism Alliance Award for both best domestic and international carriers in Vietnam from the Singapore-based IIR Exhibition Pte Ltd
Vietnam Airlines won both Domestic and International Airlines of the Year awards.
Though its win in the domestic category does not come as any surprise, the other award indicates it is competing on level terms with many international carriers.
Another double success was for the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers, which pocketed the “Spa Operator of the Year” and “Luxury Hotel of the Year” awards.
Caravelle Hotel was the best “Business Hotel of the Year.”
The Orentica Seafood Restaurant & Bar at the Hotel Equatorial Ho Chi Minh, popular for its seafood and imported wines, was the “Restaurant of the Year.”
The Saigon Tourist Travel Service Co lost out on the “Outbound Travel Operator of the Year” to the Vietnam Travel & Transport Service Co but won in the inbound travel category.
The sole winner from outside HCMC was the Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort near the famous Cua Dai Beach which was named the “Resort Hotel of the Year.”
The awards are also given annually in Cambodia and Laos.
