Accordingly, city authorities will only give permission for plans to build venues rated three-stars and over. The leaders are also seeking to create advantages for the city’s hotels to improve into standard accommodation centers.
Da Lat is now facing a lack of luxury rooms. Statistics show that the city has 600 hotels and guesthouses, of which there are only 55 one-star and over hotels and only a few three- to five-star hotels.
City authorities are now examining a high-grade resort project, to be invested in by the U.S. Hotel Casino Eurorado Group.
As planned, the group will build a route linking Phu Quoc Island of Kien Giang Province, in which another luxurious tourist area is under construction, to Da Lat, serving local and international visitors, according to Mr. Ali Khan, chairman of the Hotel Casino Eurorado Group.
In addition, Saudi Arabia’s Jehan Holdings has received a license to invest about US$1 billion in a tourism complex in Cam Ly-Mang Lin, Ward 7. The complex will cover an area of 300 hectares and will include a resort, hotel and modern recreational area and other facilities, said Mr. Ahmed M. Badeeb, chairman and CEO of the group.
