Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had signed resolution No.40 to lift obstacles for HCMC to continue the implementation of a VND10-trillion ($435-million) urban flooding prevention project, said investor of the project Trung Nam Group on April 2.
Just 77 percent of the massive anti-flooding project has been completed because of site clearance hindrance, said Director of Trungnam Group Nguyen Tam Tien at a meeting with city leaders and a delegation of officials who observed its construction and listen to reports from the builder yesterday.
The first phase of the anti-flooding project in HCMC was kicked off on June 26, 2017 with the total capital of VND10 trillion (US$429.74 million) comprising of six tidal control sewers and five embankments with the total length of 7,801 kilometers.
The People’s Committee of HCMC urged districts to complete site clearance and hand over the premise before June 30 for investors to implement the VND10 trillion (US$431 million) anti-flooding project on schedule.
The first phase of the anti-flooding project worth VND10 trillion (US$431.19 million) officially restarted after ten months of construction halt in HCMC on February 27.
