Thu Thiem 2 Bridge crossing the Saigon River, connecting the city center on the side of District 1 to the Thu Thiem New Urban Area on the side of Thu Duc City, was officially opened to traffic on the morning of April 28 to serve travel needs of citizens on the occasion of the upcoming holiday of the Reunification Day.

HCMC urgently upgrading traffic facilities for economic growth

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has been exploiting several resources to improve its traffic infrastructure to make way for its comprehensive development. The key facilities have finished now to allow the city to conveniently connect with other provinces as well as boosting the general image of HCMC itself.

HCMC: More transport infrastructure proposed for Southern areas

In the face of severe traffic congestion in Southern areas, proposals to enhance the transport infrastructure based on authentic travelling needs were filed by HCMC Department of Transport to the city People’s Committee, said Mr. Tran Quang Lam, Director of the Department of Transport.

Yet, on the same route, the halt in the construction of Vam Cong Bridge over Hau River, along with the ineffective use of Trung Luong – My Thuan highway and the difficulty in directing transport flows for ships into Hau River, gravely hinders that expected development.
