Ministry seeks to extend allowing Vietnamese people to gamble at Phu Quoc casino

As a three-year pilot program allowing Vietnamese people to gamble at a casino on Phu Quoc Island in the southern province of Kien Giang is set to finish by the end of this year, the Ministry of Finance has asked for a two-year extension due to the Covid-19 pandemic badly affecting the casino business over the last two years.

Nearly 45,000 domestic and foreign tourists have been sticking on the islands of Kien Giang Province under the bad weather condition of thundery rains and rough sea affected by the tropical depression for recent two days, according to Director of Tourist Department of Kien Giang Province Bui Quoc Thai. 
A high-speed boat operated by the Superdong Fast Ferry Kien Giang Joint Stock Company  carries passengers from Kien Giang to Phu Quoc.
