Vietnam encounters challenges launching Mobile Money service nationwide

The introduction of the Mobile Money service in Vietnam in the time when the 3G and 4G networks have become so popular in the country raises a question of its possible attractiveness, as people can easily use the Internet for their financial activities. However, it seems the service proves useful for those still owning a basic phone or living in remote areas.

Mobile Money in Vietnam witnesses promising future

The approval of the Prime Minister in Decision No.316/QD-TTG on March 9, 2021 to the pilot scheme for the use of telecoms accounts to pay for small-value goods and services (Mobile Money) has attracted much interest of both experts in the fields of banking, finance, telecoms as well as the general public.
