To create favorable conditions for Korean tourists to visit Da Nang city and return to their country to implement the correct entry policy, the Da Nang Department of Health has agreed to allow the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Company (AHT) to give a free Covid-19 antigen rapid test from May 28 to June 30.
After a long hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam’s tourism is gradually reopening with the resumption of international flights, which is considered a positive factor helping recover the hotel market.
At present, Vietnam has reopened international routes to 20 countries and territories, presenting a decline in the number of eight markets compared to the flight schedule for the winter season for 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic with 28 nations.
The Vietnamese aviation industry is currently ready in all aspects to operate the entire international flight network like before the Covid-19 outbreak, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has told Deputy Transport Minister Le Anh Tuan.
Domestic carriers including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines and international airlines consisting of Thai Vietjet, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Starlux Airlines, China Airlines, Emirates, and Asiana Airlines operated 17 international flights carrying 1,753 passengers in the first three days of 2022, said the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
Regular international flights can be gradually resumed by the end of 2021 as the COVID-19 situation will improve in the second half of the year when vaccination is accelerated in Vietnam and in the world, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) said in a report sent to the Ministry of Transport.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will resume flights on the Hanoi-Narita (Tokyo), Hanoi-Incheon (Seoul), Hanoi-Sydney, and Ho Chi Minh City-Sydney routes from April 1 to June 30, a representative of the airline said.
The Da Nang Airport in the central city of the same name is temporarily closed to international flights that carry overseas experts and Vietnamese in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, said a representative of the Ministry of Transport in a recent interview with the Vietnam News Agency.
Experts advised to take utmost caution about re-opening border crossings and resuming international flight amid ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced on March 19 that it will temporarily suspend all its international operations from now until April 30 because the growing coronavirus outbreak continues to develop quickly in many places around the world.
