According to Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the electricity consumption in 19 Southern provinces and cities has reduced by 15 percent since midnight of July 19 compared with ordinary days following the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16 order.
Vietnam’s total output of electricity from renewable energies hit 9.5 billion kWh in the first four months of 2021, up 156.9 percent year-on-year, and accounting for 11.8 percent of the total electricity output, according to a report by Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The consumer price index (CPI) in February this year jumped by 1.52 percent over the previous month, the highest increase of the index in February in the past eight years, and 1.58 percent compared to December last year.
According to the notice of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the electricity companies under EVN will stop buying rooftop solar power and handling requirements for connection and signing power purchase and sale contracts from the solar power systems after December 31, 2020 until competent authorities’ further guidance.
The Office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade yesterday informed that Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An signed and sent an official letter to Departments of Industry and Trade in provinces and centrally-run cities about reducing electricity prices for customers of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
