Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Phan Thi Thang chaired the meeting for the approval of the implementation plan for the year 2021 of the Department of Industry and Trade with the attendance of representatives of departments and industries of the city.
The year 2021 is the first year to implement the socio-economic-cultural development plan in Ho Chi Minh City from 2021 to 2025, at the same time, it is the year that the industry and trade will carry out many important projects approved by the People’s Committee of HCMC.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, on January 13, held a conference to summarize its activities in 2020, deploy the plan for 2021, and honor the typical industrial and supporting industry products in HCMC in 2020.
According to the plan, a conference to summarize the ‘Trade Cooperation Program in the period from 2016 to 2020’ and the ‘Connection of the Supply and Demand of Goods between HCMC and Provinces in 2020’, organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, will be held from September 24 to 27 at the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
So far 3,229 businesses in HCMC have got low interest loans with the total capital of VND22,253 billion (US$955.21 million) under the Banks - Businesses Connection Program implemented since the beginning of 2020, said director of the city Department of Industry and Trade Pham Thanh Kien on June 26.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, industrial production index of the city in the first nine months of this year still managed to achieve a fairly good growth of 7.26 percent over the same period last year.
The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Industry and Trade has recently required relevant divisions to effectively manage the domestic pork supplying sources and announced that pork will be imported when necessary in order to ensure demand of the market.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, total retail sales and services revenue were estimated at VND93.06 trillion in February, down 3.5 percent compared to the previous month as purchasing power strongly increased in January due to preparation for the Tet festive season.
