PM meets COVAX Facility Managing Director

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 3 (local time) met with Managing Director of the COVAX Facility Aurélia Nguyen, during which he thanked the COVAX program for its commitment to providing Vietnam with 38.9 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines free of charge in 2021, including nearly 23 million doses delivered to the country.

The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) informed that by 6 a.m. on August 22, the city had had 174,179 Covid-19 cases announced by the Ministry of Health, with 173,751 community transmissions and 428 imported cases. The city has been treating 34,605 Covid-19 patients, including 2,131 children under 16 years old, 2,442 critically ill patients on ventilators, and 19 patients undergoing ECMO intervention.

More than 1.2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines handed over to MoH

A batch of Covid-19 vaccines, including 1,209,400 doses of AstraZeneca, was officially handed over to the Ministry of Health (MoH) by Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) on the morning of August 22. This is the ninth batch of vaccines brought to Vietnam by VNVC on August 19, under the pre-order contract of 30 million doses between VNVC and AstraZeneca.
