Sports newspaper AS said that the Spanish champions will fork out 13 million euros for the player, with Marca quoting the figure at 14 million euros.
The 20-year-old, who was also rumoured to be a transfer target for Chelsea, had been putting pressure on the Dutch club to let him leave for one of Europe's glamour teams.
AS said he will be unveiled on Friday on a five-year deal, with the Spanish season due to begin on 25 August.
Real are also still said to be chasing Chelsea's Dutch international winger Arjen Robben.
