VIPRI opens representative office in HCMC

The Vietnam Intellectual Property Research Institute (VIPRI) on February 15 cooperated with the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Science and Technology to open a representative office in the city.

This office locating at 273 Dien Bien Phu Street Ward 7 District 3 will respond to inspection requests on industrial property and evaluations on intellectual property, while holding training sessions on intellectual property and its management. It also provides consultation services and support on intellectual property to meet all demands of any organizations and individuals in HCMC as well as the southern region.

In the grand opening ceremony, a cooperation agreement between VIPRI and the HCMC Department of Science and Technology was announced. Accordingly, these two partners will collaborate to carry out consulting, training, inspecting activities or price assessment and scientific research on intellectual property in order to foster the management of this property in businesses, organizations, state units, as well as among individuals.

On this occasion, VIPRI, the HCMC Department of Science and Technology, and the Japanese National Center for Industrial Property Information and Training (INPIT) jointly held the conference ‘Consulting, Supporting Businesses to Protect and Manage Intellectual Property’.

This conference aims at experience and information exchange between the two countries in the field of intellectual property research, training activities, price evaluation and inspection while introducing current consultation that VIPRI is offering to people in the southern region of Vietnam.
