Born in Hanoi in 1975, Associate Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang was the Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences before taking up this new position.

In the designation ceremony, the Prime Minister strongly reminded the Academy of its important mission to promote the growth of social science in Vietnam. He stated that such a major organization with more than 2,000 employees must try its best to contribute to the government’s direction and policy preparation, to deliver timely consultation to the Central Party and the government when needed, and to perform research with an innovative spirit.

The Prime Minister also expressed his wish that research topics, especially those basic ones, should be more practical to address current social issues in Vietnam. To fulfill this task, researchers must upgrade their own thinking, skills, and working culture in order to adapt to high demands of the reality.

“Studies must be fully published onto the official Academy’s website so that scientists all over the world can approach and use them when necessary”, he added.
