Saigon Co.op reserves 3,500 tons of pork for Lunar New Year

Vietnamese retailer Saigon Co.op announced to reserve more than 3,500 tons of safe pork supplied by prestigious food firms namely Vissan, Anh Hoang Thy and Meat Ha Nam.

Saigon Co.op promised to supply pork with low prices and offer discount on all necessary items in all its retail channels including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smiles, Cheers, HTVCo.op from November 28 to tackle rising price due to speculation amid African swine flu epidemic in the run-up to Lunar New Year in January.
Specifically, from now to December 11, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets across the country will launch program “Black Friday - Sale off”. According to the program, customers who buy household appliance, cosmetic products, and clothing will enjoy discount of 50 percent while customers of other items enjoy average discount of 10 and 20 percent.
In weeks near Tet holiday, Saigon Co.op will lower prices of clothing, package of gifts and fresh food.
Saigon Co.op announced that reserves of commodities for the Lunar New Year including subsidized items will increase 15 -30 percent year on year. It assured to have enough essential goods and special food for three months ahead and after Tet holiday in addition to confectionery and beverage.
Besides, Saigon Co.op also reserves a large quantity of chicken, beef, seafood so that people can have more choices.
