Cogon grasses blossom outside Forbidden Purple City in Hue Citadel

Cogon grasses have recently blossomed covering the white color at one corner of the moss and ancient walls outside the Forbidden Purple City - Hue Citadel where becomes a point of interest to “selfie” of many local people and tourists.

Cogon grass is a perennial plant with long and deep rhizome under the ground. Its leaves are upright, hard, veined with shape of sharp, long and narrow. 

The flowers are white like cotton, very light. Apart from propagating through the root buds, the flower has the ability to spread very far thanks to the wind.
