Photo exhibition of the Arctic opens in Hanoi

A photo exhibition titled ‘Accessible Arctic’ opened at the Women’s Museum in Hanoi on August 21.

The pictures were assembled and annotated by the Canadian Museum of Nature and Canadian Geographic.

They reflect how the North has always been at the very heart of Canadian identity. Canada’s Arctic accounts for 40 percent of Canada’s mainland and is home to more than 100,000 Canadians.

Northerners, including indigenous peoples, who comprise 80 percent of the population in some regions, have brought a number of issues to the world’s attention, such as the dangers and challenges posed by climate change, the need for sustainable economic development, and the importance of sharing experiences and knowledge with our circumpolar neighbours and the world.

The display will run untill August 31.
