Nearly 54,000 new businesses established in first five months of 2019
According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam there were nearly 54,000 newly-established firms with the total capital of nearly VND 670, 000 billion (US$ 28.6 billion) in the first five months, an increase of 3.2 percent in quantity and 29.6 percent in term of capital compared to the same period last year.

10,700 new businesses were established in May, 2019 with a registered capital of VND 127,300 billion (US$ 5.4 billion).
In May, around 19,600 enterprises returned to operation, up nearly 50 percent over the same period last year. The number of newly registered and re-operated enterprises in the period climbed over 73,600 enterprises.
