Tropical low-pressure may become storm

A tropical low-pressure system is moving north and west-north at 10km per hour and able to develop into a storm which is forecast to be 250km in the east of the coastal city of Danang and Quang Ngai provinces.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said at 7am this morning that tropical low-pressure zone centered at 13.6 degrees north latitude, 111.5 east longitude, 330 km to the South of Hoang Sa Archipelago.

The strongest wind speed near its eye was at level 6 to 7 (of 40 to 60km per hour).

In the next 24 hours, the center said tropical low-pressure will move north and west north with 10km per hour and be able to develop into a storm.

At 7am on June 4, it will be at 15.4 degrees north latitude, 111.2 degrees east longitude, 170km to the South and West-South of Hoang Sa Archipelago.

Due to the affection of tropical low-pressure, the areas in the East Sea will experience torrential rains, strong winds at level 6 to 7 then up to 8 the offshore from Ca Mau to Kien Giang will see rains, thunderstorms, whirlwinds and very strong winds.

In next 24 to 48 hours, a storm formed from tropical low-pressure is forecast to move north and west north with 10km per hour and may gain strength later.

At 7am on June 5, the storm will center at 17.2 degrees north latitude, 110.5 degrees eat longitude, and 160km from Hoang Sa Archipelago in north and west north, 130km from Hainan Islands in the south.

Rains will occur in the south central region, central highlands and southern region with rainfall at 30mm to 52mm.

The provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will experience hot during the day time and rains at night; several part of these provinces will see torrential rains. The lowest temperature is from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius and the highest temperature reaches 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.

While the provinces from Danang to Binh Thuan see rains and heavy rains and scattered thunderstorms. The highest temperature can reach 29 to 32 degrees Celsius and the lowest temperature is from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius.

The highlands center is predicted to experience rains, heavy rains and scattered thunderstorms, possible cyclones.

Rains, scattered thunderstorms will hit the southern. The center also warned that thunderstorms and hailstorms and strong winds will be able to cover over the region.
