Super typhoon ‘Jelawat’ may change course

According to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center, super typhoon ‘Jelawat’ currently located off the Philippine coast is facing another typhoon ‘Ewiniar’ in its path and may change its course towards the East Sea.

The two storms are expected to further strengthen the southwesterly winds in the southern regions of Vietnam, making the weather more cloudy and wet.

At the moment, the southern and south central regions are being affected by an inter-tropical convergence zone. As a result, the southern parts of the East Sea, including the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands, are seeing a very rough sea with strong southwesterly winds bringing in thunderstorms.
