The lowest temperature in Sa Pa (Lao Cai) and Moc Chau ( Son La) was measured at 4.2- 4.8 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature of below minus 0.3 degrees Celsius caused frost appearance in high mountainous areas of Mau Son (Lang Son province) and Meo Vac town (Ha Giang province).

This is the first time that frost occurred in the localities.

Yesterday evening, the cold front spread out the southern region which impacted to weather condition in the south part of the central region and the central offshore waters.

Today, the cold air mass is predicted to hit some places of the Central Highlands and the southeastern region.

From January 10- 14, both the north and north- central region are predicted to experience a long- lasting damaging cold, even frost occurrence in the mountainous areas.
