Temperature in the northern mountainous areas such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Mau Son (Lang Son), Tuan Giao (Dien Bien) and Dong Van (Ha Giang) yesterday dropped down below zero degree Celsius.
In recent 4- 5 days, snow and ice shouldered over some places in Mau Son, Sa Pa and Nguyen Binh (Cao Bang).
The Gulf of Tonkin experienced the northeast monsoon while both the north and north central provinces have been covered by the damaging cold on the large scale and frost appearance in the mountainous regions.
The lowest temperature in the northern delta region was measured at 8- 11 degrees Celsius, at 3- 8 degrees Celsius in the high mountainous areas.
In next couple days, the offshore waters of the central, south and middle of the East Sea including the Spratly Islands are expected to powerful wind of level 6-9, big waves of 2-3 meters and sea rough.
The northern territorial water of the East Sea including the Paracel Islands will see strong wind of level 6- 10, big waves of 3-4 meters and sea rough.
