The temperature reached at 10-11 degrees Celsius in early morning in Hanoi. It in night was measured at level 9- 10 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, daily temperature was 20 degrees Celsius in Ho Chi Minh City and coastal southern provinces, reported by the region’s Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Stations.

Because the temperature reduced rapidly accompanied with dry weather, the northern mountain provinces such as Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Cao Bang and Lang Son appeared white frost. In the area of Sa Pa town and Hoang Lien Son mountain pass, white frost stagnated in the tree, said Lao Cai and Lang Son Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center yesterday.

Last night, the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center reported that an additional cold front re-hit Vietnam. Due of its influence, Gulf of Tonkin will experience strong wind of level 7, gust up to level 9- 10, sea rough. The bad weather will cause heavy rains on the large scale from Thua Thien- Hue to Khanh Hoa province. Meanwhile, East Sea and Paracel Island will see northeast monsoon at level 7- 8, gust up to level 9- 10, sea rough with 3- 5 meters big waves. Ho Chi Minh City and southern region will be affected by 2- 3 level northeast monsoon.

If daily temperature continues to go down under zero degree Celsius in Lao Cai, Lang Son and Ha Giang, the cold front and dry weather will cause snowfall and winter rains in the upcoming days, said Center.

Director of Lao Cai’s Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center Luu Minh Hai said that temperature in Sa Pa reached at 0- 2 degrees Celsius. By December 18, snow rains will be able to occur in the area of O Quy Ho mountain pass and Hoang Lien Son National Park.
