Winners of Kovalevskaia Awards 2017 revealed

The Central Vietnam Women's Union announced that the Kovalevskaia Awards 2017 went to outstanding female scientists Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Van Khanh and Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Bich Lan.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Van Khanh, 45, is head of the Faculty of Molecular Pathology of Hanoi Medical University. She has many achievements and researches being applied to the treatment of patients with cancer in Hanoi-based K Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Oncology Hospital, Military Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Hospital.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Bich Lan, 58, is teacher of the Institute of Biotechnology of Hue University. She has spent a lot of time for her scientific research of the application of high technology to disease and animal health diagnosis.
The Kovalevskaia Prize Committee was founded in 1985 and is headed by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Binh, former Vice-President of Vietnam. The award aims to honor Vietnamese female scientists who have great contributions to scientific sector in the country.
Over the past 30 years, the Kovalevskaia Prize Committee in Vietnam has selected and awarded prizes to more than 48 individuals and 17 groups.
