President Nguyen Minh Triet, his wife and a State-level delegation of Viet Nam arrived in Sydney, Australia, at 18:45 hrs local time on September 6 for the 15th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister John Howard.

Prior to the 15 th APEC Summit, on September 7, President Triet is set to meet Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria and President Roh Moo-hyun of the Republic of Korea.
The Vietnamese State leader is scheduled to deliver his speech at the Viet Nam-Australia Business Forum, attend a meeting between the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries and the US President, and receive leaders of a number of Australian and international economic groups.
