Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper is coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City Television to create a 52 part film series on “Sentimental Attachment to the legendary Truong Son Road”, to be aired from 2012.
The film series will narrate real life stories and visits to the various historical sites along the legendary road by reporters who spent time researching, visiting and interviewing people related to the Truong Son Road.
The film series will highlight the important historical and cultural sites along the legendary road and introduce to audiences the customs and habits of the ethnic minority groups living along the Road.
SGGP Editor-in-Chief Tran The Tuyen said that the charity program of “Sentimental Attachment for Truong Son Road” had been highly appreciated by all for its deep social and political meaning and also because it helps highlight the lifestyles of the ethnic minority communities living in remote areas of the country.
SGGP has raised over VND60 billion (US$3 million) under the program to help build homes, infirmaries and offer scholarships to the poor and needy. The program also spent VND20 billion ($1 million) to build two monuments in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces.
