Over 15 million flower pots prepared for Tet holiday in Mekong Delta

Two flower villages including Cho Lach in Ben Tre province and Sa Dec in Dong Thap province are expected to supply about 15 million pots of flower and ornamental plants for the coming Tet holiday.
Mr. Bui Thanh Liem, head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department in Cho Lach district, on December 9 said that local farmers are rushing to grow Tet flower. The weather is advantageous so the district is expected to supply the Tet market with 12 million pots including many various types of flowers.
Mr. Liem said that besides traditional varieties, farmers have prepared many abroad new flowers.
In Dong Thap, the leader of Sa Dec city People’s Committee said that this year farmers increase Tet flower area by 42 hectares taking the total to over 600 hectares with the output of about 25 million pots a year.
This Tet occasion, locals have prepared over three million pots over 100 hectares.
