NA discusses prevention of crimes, law violations

National Assembly deputies discussed the prevention and fight against crime and law violations during the plenary session of the 13 th NA’s sixth meeting in Hanoi on November 7.

They also talked about the performances of the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court and the Procurator General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the execution of judgments, the implementation of Resolution 37/2012/QH13 of the NA and the corruption fight in 2013.

The deputies’ opinions focused on the situation and causes of law violations and crimes in 2013, the detection and settlement of extremely serious cases and the carrying out of death sentences.

They also spoke about the responsibilities of grass-roots agencies in law violations and crime prevention, the detection and settlement of wrong doings in the judicial sector, the popularisation of law and the improvement of the legal system.

Regarding the implementation of the 2013 fight against corruption, the deputies voiced their opinions on the responsibilities of the heads of agencies and localities in the task, the detection and settlement of large-scale corruption cases and the establishment of independent anti-corruption investigation agencies and the auditing of State-owned enterprises, among others.

On November 8, the deputies will discuss the implementation of the policies and laws on health insurance in the 2009-2012 period.
