NA Committee agrees to spend G-bond building school rooms

Before wrapping up its 12th session in Hanoi on July 12, the National Assembly Standing Committee announced to spend the spare government bond capital of the period 2012-2015 on upgrading school rooms in disadvantaged districts.

Minister of Investment and Planning Nguyen Chi Dung presented the issue at the committee session. Members of the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed to allocate VND698.704 billion ($ 30 million) for building 880 new rooms of preschools in poor districts.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the session, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that the committee will discuss socio-economic matters, asking the Ministry the Ministry of Investment and Planning to prepare reports carefully.
The chairwoman also expressed her sympathy with locals in flood-stricken areas in the North who suffered losses, asking members of the National Assembly in these areas to pay more attention to people’s living condition and suggest support from the government.
The local administrations must send reports asking for the government’s help, especially not leave ethnic minority people short of food.
