The emergency telephone number for child protection, 111, has proposed enterprises to print its telephone number on product package to popularize the number to people.

Lately, in a seminar to improve the popularization of the helpline for child protection held by the Department of Child Affairs under the Ministry of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs, Deputy director of Media Consultation and Service Center Nguyen Cong Hieu said that 2018 saw an increase in the number of children suffering violence.
Specifically, in 2018, the 111 helpline has consulted more than 27,400 cases, a year-on-year increase of 1,562 cases and provided support for 806 children up by 222 cases.
The number of children suffering violence was 357, a surge of 140 cases year on year.
Worst, teacher misconduct has taken place in some places such as in Ho Chi Minh City’s Go Vap and Tan Binh districts, the Mekong delta province of Tra VInh, Long An, the central province of Quang Binh and the northern province of Nam Dinh worrying parents when sending their kids to schools.
Simultaneously, many children have been victims of indecent assault  by their teachers in April in Hanoi and Binh Duong Province.
Mr. Hieu said that kids are suffering much damage in life; for instance, they are used as a tool to revenge in a divorce; however, there has been no proper home for them to live and shortage of supporting services especially psychological assistance service.
Head of the Department of Children Affairs Dang Hoa Nam noted that the around-the clock free helpline was set up by the government to receive all information of child abuse and violence provided by organizations and residents and exploit news on social network and media. 
Printing the helpline number on product package is manifestation of society and enterprises toward children, contributing in enhancing consumers’ trust to the products, he said.
