First coffee museum opened in Buon Ma Thuot

Trung Nguyen Legend has officially opened World Coffee Museum, the first of its kind in Vietnam, in the premises of the 45-hectare project “Coffee Town in the central highlands province of Dak Lak’s Buon Ma Thuot Town

Deputy Chairman of Dak Lak Province Nguyen Hai Ninh said that the inauguration of the museum is expected to start the coffee festival 2019. The architectural museum has design and distinguishing characteristic of Ede ethnic minority people’s culture.

Many coffee museums were established in the world including in Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Germany, England and Japan.
Nevertheless,  the museum in the Southeast Asian country is unique with more than 10,000 exhibits which were brought from coffee museum Jens Burg in Germany and a part of the hub of global coffee.
In October, 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development proposed 15 national major agricultural products including coffee.
The Southeast Asian country ranks the second coffee exporter just behind Brazil; however, its annual export revenue reaches $4 billion because Vietnam sells rude coffee meanwhile global coffee value is estimated to be over $100 billion yearly.
