Binh Thuan to build 51.2 million-cubic -meter water reservoir to battle drought

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly approved to build a water reservoir in forestland in the south-central province of Binh Thuan’s Ham Thuan Nam District.
Construction of water reservoir Ka Pet is aimed at improving socio-economic development of Ham Thuan Nam District, one of the driest and drought area of the country, said Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.
Water from the water reservoir will be used for agricultural production and daily activities of residents in Ham Thuan Nam and Phan Thiet Town as well as for industrial production of Ham Kiem Industrial Park II and for ecological environment improvement.
