The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said that Bac Lieu was selected to launch the Vietnam Sea and Island Week, the World Oceans Day, the Action Month for the Environment and the World Environment Day 2019.
Particularly, the launching ceremony to kick off these activities will take place at Bac Lieu city's Square at 7am on Saturday.
As per plan, the launching ceremony of planting mangrove forest against coastal landslides, saltwater intrusion and the impacts of climate change and environmental protection will be held in Nha Mat ward on Friday.
On the same day, a conference on implementing the Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW on the strategy of the sustainable development of Vietnam’s marine economy by 2030, with a vision to 2045 is expected to take place at Cao Van Lau Theater.
On this occasion, the Mekong Delta province will start work on two construction projects of waste treatment plant (in commune of Chau Hung, Vinh Loi district) and wind power plant (in the commune of Vinh Hau A, Hoa Binh district).
