The 189MVA sub-station supplies the main power source for the Southeast Industrial Park, including First Solar Vietnam- a complex of solar battery factories with a total investment of US$ 1.2 billion which is the leading key FDI project in HCMC.

Previously, the Southeast sub-station had been provided with electricity source from the 110 kV Hoc Mon - Southeastern transmission line and the 110 kV Go Dau - Southeastern transmission line.

EVNHCMC decided to invest into construction of two new 110kV circuit transmission lines to supply electricity to the Southeast sub- station as the two power sources above are often overloaded.

After coming into operation, the new circuit transmission lines are expected to meet the demand for electricity supply for the First Solar Plant and relevant units inside the industrial park; improve flexible operation at adjacent 110 kV subtransmission stations; and increase electricity quality in the region.
