Mass fight cancellations, airport operation suspension as Storm Noru approaches

Hundreds of flights from and to airports in the central and Central Highlands regions, including Chu Lai, Da Nang, Phu Bai, Phu Cat and Pleiku on September 27 have been canceled as Storm Noru continues to cause transport disruption across the country.
On the afternoon of September 27, five airports temporarily suspended all operations ahead of the hurricane, consisting of Dong Hoi in Quang Binh, Vinh in Nghe An, Tuy Hoa in Phu Yen, Buon Ma Thuot in Dak Lak and Lien Khuong in Lam Dong, raising the total number of airfields to 10.
The suspension of operations at airports is undertaking to adapt to the impacts of storm surges, such as Chu Lai in Quang Nam from 7 am on September 27 to 6.59 am on September 28; Da Nang, Phu Bai in Thua Thien Hue, Phu Cat in Binh Dinh, Pleiku in Gia Lai, Buon Ma Thuot from 12 pm on September 27 to 11.59 am on September 28; Dong Hoi from 10 pm on September 27 to 8 pm on September 28; Vinh from 3 am to 4 pm on September 28; Lien Khuong from 4 pm on September 27 to 3.59 pm on September 28; and Tuy Hoa in Phu Yen from 3.30 pm on September 27 to 8 am on September 28.
The low-cost carrier Vietjet Air is canceling 31 flights from airports of Hanoi, HCMC and Buon Ma Thuot to Chu Lai, Da Nang, Phu Bai, Phu Cat and Pleiku, including VJ505/506, VJ541/540 on Hanoi-Da Nang-Hanoi route; VJ711/710 on Da Nang- Buon Ma Thuot – Da Nang route; VJ701/702 on Da Nang-Can Tho-Da Nang route; VJ629 on Da Nang- HCMC route; VJ524, VJ522 on Da Nang-Hanoi route; VJ302/303 and VJ304/305 on HCMC-Hue-HCMC route; VJ384/381 on HCMC- Quy Nhon-HCMC; VJ378/379, VJ370/371, VJ372/373, VJ374/375 on HCMC-Chu Lai-HCMC; VJ415/416 on Hanoi-Chu Lai-Hanoi; VJ421/422 on Hanoi-Pleiku-Hanoi; VJ394/395 on HCMC-Pleiku-HCMC.
The budget airline Bamboo Airways announced to cancel 24 flights, including QH1215/1214 on Hanoi-Quy Nhon-Hanoi route; QH 2312 on Phu Quoc-Da Nang;QH144/143 on Da Nang-Hanoi-Da Nang; QH182 on HCMC-Da Nang; QH195 on Da Nang-HCMC; QH123/124 on Hanoi-Da Nang-Hanoi; QH105 on Hanoi-Da Nang; QH1217/1216 on Hanoi-Quy Nhon-Hanoi; QH116/115 on Da Nang-Hanoi-Da Nang; QH 146/147/148 on Da Nang-Hanoi-Da Nang; QH170/191 on HCMC-Da Nang-HCMC; QH1502/1501 on HCMC-PLeiku-HCMC; QH1201/1202 on Hanoi-Hue-Hanoi.
On the afternoon of September 27, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) announced that it had stopped operating and adjusted the schedule of 150 flights, including 148 domestic flights and two international flights with nearly 14,000 passengers.
