Website hacker arrested in Hanoi

A staff member employed as an Internet security officer at an information technology company in Hanoi was arrested for hacking into the website, a part of belonging to the Bach Khoa Internet Security Company (Bkis).

On Monday, Nguyen Tu Quang, director general of the company said that the Police Department in charge of High-tech Crimes under the Ministry of Public Security had identified that the hacking had been done from the hacker’s private residence in Hoang Mai District in Hanoi.

The hacker has already admitted to the crime and police officials are investigating others that may be involved.

On February 2, the hacker had entered website and left a message stating ‘hacked’. A member of the Bkav forum with nickname kataro92 uncovered the theft and informed Bkis, who later rewarded the informant.

Tran Van Hoa, deputy head of the Police High-tech Crimes Department said his department plans to strengthen crackdown on internet hacking crimes.
