Public hospital doctors banned from heading private clinics

The Ministry of Health has passed a new regulation prohibiting   doctors of a public hospital to head any private clinic.

As per the new regulation, a medic working in a district hospital will not be allowed to undertake responsibilities in hospitals in other districts. However, they will be allowed to work on a part-time basis.

Full-time doctors will also not be allowed to work more than 200 hours per year at health centers on a part-time basis.

Foreign doctors working in the country will also be required to carry valid certificates of their study qualifications, training experience in   hospitals, valid work permits and proof of fluency in the Vietnamese language. For those unable to speak the language, presence of competent medical interpreters in their workplace must be given.
