Australia lauds DPRK-US negotiation efforts

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on March 4 lauded the outcomes of the DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam held on February 27-28.

However, he said achieving denuclearisation on the Korean peninsula is a difficult task.

Talking to the media the same day, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne said the two-day talks continued to move in the right direction. Denuclearisation is a complex matter so it is never going to be resolved overnight. 

She commended both US and DPRK leaders for the engagement they had during the sessions.

Earlier, Labour Party Senator Penny Wong also expressed her belief that their talks will continue in the future.
