Typhoon triggered heavy rain damages vegetable farming in HCMC

Wide spread heavy rain caused by typhoon Usagi and high tide have inundated lot of vegetable fields in HCMC outskirts including Binh Chanh, Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts, reported the city Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Large cooperatives in the districts said that their vegetables have been flooded.
Farms have been short of vegetables to supply Song Xanh Company according to contracts, said the company.
The representative of Toan Viet cooperative in Long An province, one of vegetable suppliers for HCMC, said that most of vegetable fields have been flooded so supply shortage might occur in the city market at the weekend.
