Three public restrooms located in Tao Dan, 23/9 and Le Van Tam Parks finished construction on January 25.
The Sai Gon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank (Sacombank) provided funding for the projects.
Each restroom is 60 square meters costing VND 800 million to VND 1 billion (US$37,986 to US$47,483). The facilities are designed following the city’s guidelines for construction planning and treatment systems.
Sacombank will employ workers to upkeep the facilities. The company also has provided additional chairs and wastebaskets around the parks.
The bank’s projects started in 2010. Since then, 10 public facilities have been constructed around the country in HCMC, Da Lat City, Vung Tau, Vinh Long Town, Cao Lanh Town and Phu Quoc Island.
The company plans to build eight more facilities in parks, schools and hospitals in HCMC in 2014.
