Labor sector spends nearly $429,968 taking care of laborers’ lives

In its meeting to review activities in the 11th Worker Month and Labor Hygiene Safety Action Month, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union yesterday announced to spend nearly VND10 billion ($429,986) taking care of city’s laborers’ lives.
In the Worker Month, the union focused on activities to benefit workers. Labor unions in all companies organized activities such as walking to raise fund for fatally sick workers, shopping festival to sell discounted commodities and medical check-up.
Additionally, the green Sunday for laborer’ safety and hygiene attracted around 2,950 grass-root unions with over 854,000 participants. Furthermore, the movement “Lao dong gioi- Lao dong sang tao” ( Work well- Work with creativeness” received 977 scientific entries and 4,141 technical innovations to make profit of more than VND107 billion for their companies.
On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh Labor Union honored 58 workers who both worked well and creatively and 45 teams and individuals that participated heartedly in the movement and 33 other active teams.
