HCMC wants further investments from French enterprises

At the receipt, the city leader believed that the visit was an important milestone of the two parties’ ties as well as an evidence for the two parties’ solidarity, and showed continuity of the next generation of the French Communist Party leaders who are looking after the relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Communist Party of Vietnam always pays more attentions and monitors the relations, wishes the French Communist Party to achieve good results in local elections in March 2020 as well as supports the honoring President Ho Chi Minh in activities of marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the French Communist Party next year. 

The Communist Party of Vietnam also appreciated standpoint of the French Government in support of maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea, ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation operation on the sea, respecting the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982. 

Particularly, the cooperation ties between Ho Chi Minh City and France’s localities have achieved great success with 250 investment projects having total capital of over US$ 261 million. The France has ranked the 15th position among 106 countries and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh City. 

The two- way trade turnover hit more than US$ 855 million in 2018. Ho Chi Minh City and Lyon co-signed a cooperation agreement  to build a lighting project of Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts  for the period 2018-2020.
 
The city wants French businesses to continue the cooperation and investment, especially projects related to construction of smart urban, urban transport, creative start-ups, etc, said the city party chief.  
Mr. Fabien Roussel stressed that the French and Vietnamese Communist Party  had a long-lasting friendship, solidarity, close cooperation and mutual respect.

The good relationship between the two parties is expected to maintain  in the future through mutual cooperation activities such as seminars and meetings between the two countries’ working delegations. 

The French leader highlighted the importance of peacekeeping requirement; and he affirmed that all activities of the French Communist Party geared to peace. 

He committed to actively mobilize members of parliament to support the settlement of international disputes via peaceful solutions. 

In the field of the economic cooperation, French businesses have the strengths in building urban transport systems, supporting creative start-ups and smart urban development. The French Communist Party supports French businesses and investors in Vietnam, add Mr.  Fabien Roussel.
