HCMC to chop down 143 trees in Ton Duc Thang street

Ho Chi Minh City will chop down 143 trees and remove 115 trees in Ton Duc Thang street, District 1 for construction of Thu Thiem 2 bridge, announced director of the Department of Transport Nguyen Xuan Cuong on Tuesday.

Speaking at a meeting of the city People’s Council, he said that the tree removal and cutting will be implemented in line with the construction progress of the bridge's items.
Thu Thiem 2 bridge will connect traffic between downtown HCMC and Thu Thiem new urban area in District 2, estimated to cost VND3 trillion ($132 million).
