HCMC set to restart anti-flooding program

Steering center of the Urban Flood Control Program held a meeting to collect opinions from relevant agencies to restart a VND10 trillion (US$428.6 million) anti-flooding project, which has been halted for the last five years.
The relevant agencies include Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance and Planning and Investment.
After hearing investor Trung Nam Company’s report, the agencies’ representatives agreed with restarting the project.
The center prepared four solutions for the city People’s Committee to work with State Bank of Vietnam so that Trung Nam Company can get bank loans to continue implementation.
The project solving tidal flooding for HCMC has completed 80 percent of the work volume before getting stuck with refunding procedures.
