HCMC police adopt new tech to reduce crime in year-end

Police in Ho Chi Minh City will continue adopting new technologies to reduce crime in 2019.

The new was released at a press brief on January 5 by police to publicize social order results in 2018 and plan for 2019.
The party and director of police forces carried out synchronous measures to keep social order last year.
According to the police director, police forces have cracked down on crime; therefore, crime rate in HCMC diminished.
Specifically, there was 4,500 crimes in 2018, down by nearly 4.9 percent against the same period last year. Police forces have handled over 3,400 cases.
In 2019, the city police promised to adopt new technologies against crime. Presently, to ensure social order in and after Tet holiday (the Lunar New Year), the biggest public holiday in the country during which time people celebrate the coming of a new year, police forces will launch attack to combat crime including checks to restaurant, discotheques, and public amusement areas.
Moreover, police forces will break up criminal rings especially those use guns, weapons, stipulators, smugglers and traffic violators.
