Deteriorating structural conditions have severely sunk the buildings due to its outdated construction prior to 1975.  The buildings are currently in danger of collapse.

The families will be provided new spaces in Ward 12 of equal value. They will be provided ownership certificates of their new homes.

If the new apartment is larger than their previous apartment, the household will pay the difference in price.

Binh Thanh District will assist each evacuated household with VND 6 million (US$ 285). Those leaving on schedule will receive first-choice in the new apartments and a reward of VND 5 million (US$ 237).

The district urges investors to rebuild the buildings after relocation. Construction is expected to complete in three years, said Duong Hong Thang, deputy chairman of Binh Thanh People’s Committee.

The district is also implementing a project that prevents landslides to the buildings.
